Facilities Engineer

BRENCO, producer of tapered roller bearings for the railroad industry has an immediate need for a Facilities Engineer. Brenco is part of larger company - Amsted Rail. ASF-Keystone, Brenco and Griffin Wheel, offer quality solutions that combine castings, bearings and wheels from all three of the Amsted rail divisions.
Facilities Engineer is responsible for the day to day direction of facilities and safety for Petersburg, VA facility.
## Principal Activities/Objectives
Responsible for minor building repairs (any area outside of operations such as bathrooms, offices and lunchrooms)
Coordination of other services/repairs/contractors (janitorial, lawn care, roof repairs, asphalt, HVAC etc.).
Work with operations to ensure compliance with OSHA standards, electrical standard, building codes, local fire department requirements and fire prevention.
Coordinates all request with regards to safety improvements/issues and facilities maintenance.
Project management (start to finish) to include capital expenditure, bid packages/drawings, negotiations and establishment of new contractors.
Coordinates all annual and weekly fire system preventative maintenance program and facility insurance compliance program.
Serve as back-up to Environmental Coordinator, Facilities/WW Technician and Facilities Manager.
On-call 24 hours/7 days for emergencies.
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
AUTOCAD/Inventor
5 years experience in OSHA compliance.
Ability to read, write and interpret blueprints
Prior experience in leading contractors on minor projects and capital projects
Basic computer skills including SAP
Prior experience in emergency response (to include 1st aid/CPR)
