The Chief Medical dosimetrist is a member of the Radiation Therapy team who has knowledge of the overall characteristics and clinical relevance of treatment machines
equipment; works in collaboration with Medical Physicist and Medical Oncologist; supervises dosimetry area and trains other dosimetry team members. Has education expertise to generate radiation dose plans and calculations.
Education:
AS or BS in Radiation Sciences.
Completed AMA approved School of Radiation Therapy
Must have attended a Clinical Medical Dosimetrist program or training
Experience:
Minimum 2 years experience as staff Radiation Therapist
Work experience in Dosimetry at least 18 months under supervision of CMD and/or Medical Physicist
Basic computer knowledge - Windows and Microsoft Word/Excel
Licenses/Certificates:
Certification in Radiation Therapy by American Registry of Rad. Tech.
Certification by American Association of Medical Dosimetrist
CPR Certification
